After years of glorious battles against the Amarr, the happy warriors known as The Deadbeats will disband on September 7, 2010. During their time spent fighting alongside the Minmatar Militia, this corps of tax dodgers and freedom fighters destroyed over 1,500 Amarr ships and inflicted nearly 100 billion isk of damage on the Amarr Militia.
"I will always remember The Deadbeats as the best time I've spent in New Eden," said founding CEO Lao Zuki. "There are terrific memories of heart-pounding battles, side-splitting laughter, and hearty companionship - plus the satisfaction of fighting for a noble cause."
But all good things come to an end. No corps lasts forever. In this case the group was brought down by a single pilot who caused unending turmoil, internal and external, draining the energy and patience of those who managed the corporation. The decision was made to pull the plug while the memories were good and the corps was strong, rather than let the corps fester to a slow death.
Minmatar corps directors have been notified with the hope that they will recruit and hire many of the best pvp pilots the corps has to offer. Other pilots will join Minmatar warrior alliances. A few say they will head to Jovian space. Lao Zuki says he will fly out to the original stargate to see if he can pass through to the other side.
"Our efforts to defeat the Amarr could not have been realized without the support of many friends in Minmatar and Gallente space," said Zuki. "We will always be grateful. Your memories will live with us forever."
