From the Ashes, Damu'Khonde Rises

Hydra Booted, Razor Spanked in Providence

Only days after a disgruntled director engineered an underhanded takeover of the Ushra'Khan [U'K], former members of the Minmatar alliance, working with a coalition of local allies, took back all the systems and outposts in Providence which had been illegally acquired by the pirate alliance Hydra Reloaded.

As of July 31, 2010, the old Unity Station in 9UY4-H had re-opened its doors, and members of The Deadbeats were able to again dock and gain access to their ships and supplies. The outpost in KBP7-G, while liberated, remains closed as of August 1, but sources indicate it should be available again within a week.

The liberation of KBP7-G was accomplished in part due to the battles fought by Agony Unleashed, who at one point used 14 battleships off the KBP gate in XHQ-7V to destroy a Razor fleet of over 50 ships, mostly armored HACs. In this engagement, the Razor fleet landed right on top of the Agony battleships - which happened to be all smart-bomb fitted. Sixteen seconds later, the Agony disco crew had destroyed 3.82 billion of Razor isk, losing only four ships in the engagement. A highlight reel of the allied victory was just released on YouTube.

It is not known whether Razor was working in cooperation with Hydra in Providence, or just taking advantage of the instability in the region. Regardless of their motives, this roving gang of rascals may think twice before making a return visit.

As the dust settles in Providence, the former corps of the U'K have re-emerged as a new Minmatar warrior alliance, which shall be known as the Damu'Khonde. Their new ticker will be [USHRA].

The name of the reborn alliance means "Bloody Fist" in Swahili, and it echoes the iconic symbol and ideology of the former Ushra'Khan. Now, the warriors of the Damu'Khonde, organized under a new flag, will continue the struggle against the Amarr, and their slaver puppets and pirates cohorts.

The nascent alliance of freedom fighters is rapidly organizing, sorting out the leadership structure, setting standings, making new diplomatic connections, and tackling thorny issues such regional rules of engagement (currently NBSI). Insiders say formal statements from the new alliance will be posted shortly. The Deadbeats were promptly granted mutual blue status with the Damu'Khonde, reflecting our long friendship and allegiance to the Ushra'Khan.

"Game mechanics can be abused," said Littlest Hobo pilot Butter Dog, referring to the midnight betrayal by the director who handed the U'K over to Hydra, "but our membership is the one thing that no spy or traitor can take from us. We were Ushra'Khan. And now we will be Damu'Khonde. And under this new banner, same as ever, we will come for our people."
